I still love it here, the area is beautiful and the people are mostly nice! Sometimes they are mean and sometimes they are funny. Some people chew us out for America bombing Montenegro, which never actually happened. We get called dogs and stuff and a ton of people here calls us Sektaši, which means kind of like cultists. Its supposed to be an insult but we normally just laugh. Its funny though because people from English, or nice people on the street, don't really know what we do here. One lady from English ran into us while contacting and said "Oh, seeing the sights in Podgorica, I see!". We got a kick out of that. And every guy that is 50 years old and above tells us how great the women are here and tries to make us find girls or thinks he is helping and tries to call someone before we tell him no. Its kind of ridiculous but its funny. We have a few people that we are in the loop with and tell us that if we ever need anything to come to them which is pretty cool. Also, if anyone ever needs heavy painkillers, only mildly sketchy, I can hook you up!
The language is improving a bit, I probably understand about 30 to 40 percent of what is being said, unless they say it super fast. And about 75 percent of church related stuff, unless it is another elder I can normally understand it all. Everyone here thinks I work too hard on it because I spend extra time trying to learn new stuff but I want to be native status by the time I leave. It was so cool the other day in English class, we had a new lady ask me questions about every question on a worksheet pretty much all in Serbian and I understood it all and explained it all to her in Serbian! I am still super pumped about that.
I have been here for a month which is crazy! I feel like I just got to Montenegro last week but it is flying by. I am really loving it here and it's already feeling really normal being in the environment. I hope everyone has an awesome week!
