This week I decided to hit the language really hard. It was rainy out and coming down hard so we were inside a ton on most days. So I decided to work a ton on getting better at speaking because I don't feel comfortable speaking even though I'm doing well apparently for my age. My problem is probably just because I'm not as confident of a speaker. And I say "um" a lot which my mom doesn't like. But it's a good thing to work on. I can tell people how to say really random things like anti Turkish highwayman, haywire, frog, net, to lead/drive out, and sheet metal, but now I need to work on regular stuff haha. So that has definitely improved this week.
On Wednesday we decided to go Christmas shopping at night before we had to be back. We had two mini exchanges and we bought stuff for the other people in our district. So it actually was pretty fun opening gifts on Christmas! I felt really lame because I ended up getting ties for the three guys but they were all wanting those ties really bad and I'm the tie guy so I guess its not to cliche...
Christmas was really good. We went shopping again (this is all at Delta City, a mall thats about twice as big as the St. George one because it has 2 stories. Maybe a little bigger, but they have like 3 good stores that we really like and check every time) until noon, then we had lunch at the Taylors with Srdjan. So yeah the Taylors are the greatest they have cooked for us so much. Sister Taylor is a trooper. And I have a testimony that awesome senior couples keep missionaries alive haha. After the lunch I went to the church to Skype the family. It was good but it doesn't really feel like it happened. Sorry family. Also my sister Alyssa cried the whole time so that was unfortunate. And I saw my bro of all bros Cole, who showed up for a bit which was pretty legit. So yeah Skype was great while it lasted.
Almost forgot, on Tuesday we played basketball for my first time in the field! The other elders found a guy playing basketball last week so we played 2 on 2 with him and my comp sat out because he was sick. And this guy is like 6'5" and really good. And because I'm the tallest I got paired up with him the whole time. So that was less fun he dunked on me and pretty much wrecked me. But I did a few good things so I didn't completely fail haha.
It's been a good week here, still haven't worn pants on P Days or whenever we aren't in Proselyting clothes! I have a picture on Christmas day in the square by the tree in short sleeves and a T shirt to prove it! Still warm enough, still doing good, language is still coming even though it's frustrating at times and I hate living in my dictionary. But yeah it's a mission and its awesome. Have a good week everyone.
