Tuesday we went to Belgrade (It's in Serbia for some of those that don't know ;) ). Anyway, we had zone conference there and it was super good. Serbia zone is the best zone so of course it was good. But its funny because it is seriously like a brotherhood. And some of the sisters are ok i guess. Haha but we had about 4ish hours extra before our flight once conference was finished, just like we always want but never get. However, this time it was pouring. It was kinda dumb because it was also the first sunny day in Podgorica for a while and I shed a tear of sorrow as the plane took off. But we decided that we were going to go to Burger House in center, which is the best burger place in the mission other than one place in Zagreb. So we walked about 45 min - 1 hour there because the traffic was bad so we didn't take a bus. In the cold rain (not MNE anymore, it's cold in Serbia). We had no umbrellas or anything. We got there and it was closed. So that was a bit disappointing but there is another place right there that is super good called Gyros and so we just went there. It was so worth it. The trip in pouring cold rain for almost 2 hours for a Gyro. Haha but we got to see the city so it was way fun.
On Thursday we had a really long day. We were waiting for certain things to happen that never did and ended up wasting a lot of time and me and Hixon were both just having a hard day. We finished everything at around 4 and it was dark outside which is super awkward for contacting most of the time. So to get a break before English class at 6 we walked a bit away, got aloe vera drinks and chilled on a bridge for a bit just to talk and get back into it. As we decided to leave a guy was coming close and I decided to talk to him. Normally in Podgorica out of maybe 75ish people 1 will stop to talk about religion with you. But that day, the one guy that we talked to stopped and talked with us and he was super cool. We hope to see him again, but even if we don't he definitely helped us get back into the swing of things and maybe the Lord softened his heart just enough for that.
Saturday was the greatest day ever. We cleaned the church like every week, then we had lunch and bought an axe. What? you say. An axe? Yes people, a huge tree cutting axe. We met up with one of our super good buddies Božina, and he took us to the outskirts of Podgorica to cut down a tree. We walked for a long time and just talked to him, learned some Serbian, and finally got to the trees. And they were pine trees even, which was so cool because they pretty much don't exist here. So we chopped down a tree and took pictures and made Christmas cards! That was definitely a blast.
It was a fairly difficult week but it had some awesome points to it that evened it out and made it fun. It went fast too! Really crazy though because Christmas is next week! When I was a kid, I would be so strained and stressed right now because I couldn't wait. I had my Christmas list in July, and revised and edited it so I could have my final draft ready for September. Not this year though but its still going to be a great one! Happy holiday season all and hope you have a great week!
