This week was cool, lots of contacting. Also, there is a big book fair which is sickkkk! We are selling Book of Mormons for 100 dinar because we have to sell them to get in but its super sick and we had a shift yesterday and another one coming up and its fun. It goes til next Sunday so we will be doing that a lot this week. Because of our shift, I am limited on time so I will write more about it next week. Love you all!
It was a sick week! We had 2 members of the 70 in town, first was Elder Charles who is the area president. He had a fireside on Tuesday and then taught Zone Conference on wednesday. It was totally serendipitous. Then last night and this morning we had Elder Hamula along with the assistant historian of the church who are here for history stuff. He also had a fireside last night, then a meeting with just us missionaries this morning. It was tightttt! It was a great week of spiritual rejuvenation.
Other than that we did a lot of finding, and had some success on Saturday getting a few numbers to follow up on this week. It'll be great.
The members in this branch are the greatest, the younger ones are so chill and they're a lot of fun. And there's a lady in the branch that LOVES to cook for us, she always tells us how we don't know how to cook and we need to go over to her place. And she brought like kiflas and stuff for all the firesides and cooked for zone conference haha. She's great.
It's all a fun time here peeps, have a good one!
Belgrade is sick. It is literally the coolest city ever. And it makes it even cooler when you have a cool district and a cool companion!
My new comp is elder Winfield. He is an Australian and he is really cool. Hes into sports and stuff so it helps to have stuff in common. Also, he adds another Aussie to my comp list which is totally serendipitous.
Whitewashing has been interesting, we have gotten lost a few times, taken buses the wrong way and ended up in the outskirts of our area. Good thing other elders are available to guide you over the phone when you need to get places haha. We dont have any investigators, naturally, because we are reopening an area that nobody has been in since I went to Zagreb. But we had a few good conversations with people. Also, we had dinner at a members house, the first time of my mission! Woot woot! They were so cool, its the brothers that went on mini missions to Rijeka with Elder Lowis while I had my mini. Theyre sick.
Branch conference was this week as well, which was cool. I got to see my old mini missionary comp, and meet a lot of the other members in Serbia. Also another cool thing happened. Cacak, a city about 3 hours south of Belgrade was opened. And its even cooler cuz thats where my friends the Maccabees have roots! It was approved to open and get 2 elders there because it has the highest attendance rate in europe, 89 percent which is 8 out of 9 members. The members there have been holding weekly meetings in one of their houses and watching the broadcasts from BG. They are all so solid.
Good stuff is happening, I love it here, my comp is legit and the work is movin forward. Have a good week everyone! Love you all!
So this week was pretty crazy. I have been back in center area on a week long exchange til I move to my new area on Wednesday, not today. I will move later because I will be whitewash training and I have to pick up my greenie! My new area is Belgrade, Serbia (which looks like Gotham, hence the subject title)! The combination of training, never serving in the city before, and the fact that it is the biggest city in the mission is kinda a recipe for getting lost haha. But I am so excited! Elders Lowis and Hixon both served there and said how awesome it was so I'm really excited to get the experience!
It was a pretty good week, we did a lot of contacting and didn't really find anyone but we had a few good lessons! We had one with the guy whose wife doesn't like us and he bore a really strong testimony again! However, his wife has banned us from her house so that's rough but we will continue to meet at the church with him. Well, the other elders will. We met with two of the Center elders investigators, one has been doing really well, but was hesitant about prayer. We explained how great it is and he really loved it! So pretty much it was a good finish to the area.
General Conference was also legit! A lot of investigators throughout the zone came and loved it! My personal favorite was the improve yourself talk in the Saturday Morning session. Haha its difficult remembering which is which cuz we watched the morning sessions live at 6pm. But ya I think it was that session.
I hope everyone is doing good, the work is movin out here and Im stoookkeeddddd to go to Belgrade! Have a good week everyone!
