So this week it rained, which means that everyone was inside. The people here are really superstitious and they freak out about the rain and wind. So... it was a bad contacting week. However, we had a few really good conversations, and with one guy we were able to share a lot. He was a JW and he was cool, but he was set in his ways. It was still good though because it was cool to hear his perspective because the JW community around here is probably the normalest people and they are super nice so we were able to find out more about them.
English classes were so good this week. We had a ton of new people and it was a lot of fun. After classes we chill for a while and just talk with the group of three people that we are super solid with (Jovan, Snezana, and Bozina) and it is super cool. Also this week we SCORED because Snezana offered to teach us Serbian! So now we are learning that after English classes which is cool because we have been teaching them and we are going to be able to spend a bit more time with them. Also because now I will have a native teacher!
On Saturday we had a super good time with the group of English students. We made them chili and cornbread and honeybutter. They loved the cornbread and honeybutter but we don't think they loved chili. But we taught them the Plan of Salvation after and Jovan was on his phone because someone called him which was dumb, but Bozina and Snezana asked super good questions, and it was a really good lesson. After that, everyone kind of dispersed except Snezana asked a question and me and Hixon stayed and answered it. And it led to more. And it was so cool! That was probably my highlight of the week.
The biggest downer of the week was the MUP. We went to get Lowis's Visa stamped because he had the requirements, and I was going to apply so all I would have to do is come back later for the stamp. Well, they have this thing about our apartment lease and we have had issues before with it, but Lowis got through because there is one girl there that is really cool and doesn't decline us out of a bad mood. Anyway, they declined me, and right as Lowis was about to get his Visa, the lady that declined me stopped Lowis because we live together, checked his lease, and revoked his Visa status. We waited for about an hour after that then they told us that we could go. We had to get a whole new lease for our apartment and go to court through a judge to get it validated, with Elder Westwood and our landlady. It was kind of stupid. Anyway, we will be at the MUP again tomorrow for that.
Other than that place, I really love it here. I am estimated to stay for 2 more transfers after this one, so if that is the case I will have been here for 6 months and I am totally fine with that. I am learning a lot here and it is a good place to be for the most part. It is apparently a really hard area but that's good because I'm still fresh and if it does happen to get easier then I can just be like woah I've pushed through before! So yeah its good stuff. Have a good week everyone!
